Its apparent that every town or city in Vietnam seems to have a market where you can buy most anything, so it goes without saying that there is a market in Duong Dong and its worth having a look…its certainly colorful and there’s lots of activity to observe and participate in if you’d like a little snack or some fresh veggies or fruit or even fish or crab if maybe you have the means to cook them up. There’s people cooking satay on grills, you can even find vendors selling fresh baguettes and the fillings to put into the, if you’d like a nice sandwich.
The market in Duong Dong is a little bit laid back compared to some that I passed through, Hoi An for example and Ho Chi Minh City or Hue…as in most markets keep your whit’s about you because there’s always people passing through on motorbike and bicycles.
Have a look…its just beside the Duong Dong River just to the North of Nguyen Trun Truc street…if you care to cross the bridge that you’ll find at the bottom of Nguyen Trun Truc you can see the fish boats moored along the river at various wharves and maybe catch the crews at work off loading they’re catch or preparing the nets for the next sailing.
Check it out…prepare yourself for some color and a buzz!!
